This recipe is super easy, adaptable and also delicious. Personally, I just want to mention that using a mix of plant and whey protein is the best because if you only use whey the recipe will turn to sticky. This way you also reduce the amount of lactose in the bars and if you use isolate protein as I did from PureBlendCo you will avoid any traces of lactose, which is great for your GUT!
- Main ingredient = peanut butter
- There are also some oats, coconut flour, and milk.
- Plus you get 20g of protein in one bar 🙂
Recipe makes 12 bars and you can keep them in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 days, which is great if you need a quick and nutritious on the go snack or pre-workout treat 😉
High protein PB chocolate bars
With just a few simple ingredients you can make a treat filled with 20g of pure protein!
- 70g PureBlendCo raw cacao whey protein
- 30g Iswari protein powder
- 200g peanut butter flour
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 20ml chocolate sugar-free syrup from Proteone
- 20g cocoa powder
- 340ml vanilla almond milk
- 130g peanut butter
- 30g gluten-free oats
- 30g coconut flour
In a bowl combine the first 8 ingredients until very smooth.
Blend the oats with coconut flour and add them in the bowl. Mix well with a spatula.
Take a smaller square pan, add some baking paper on top and using your hands, press the dough into the cake pan. Then, use a spatula to make it smooth and even all the way around.
Let the mixture rest in the freezer for 10 minutes and then cut out 12 bars with a knife.
For extra sweetness use a sweeter chocolate protein powder or add 2 tbsp of hones.
